urgh!

:)

I'm sure there are plenty of alternatives out there. I must say I have not tried a wine can, but the idea that:

"Much better to invest just 3 pence more on a bottle of Malbec from Asda and keep it open for three days."

does not inspire me with confidence!

375s seem to be gaining somewhat in popularity, particularly among mid-tier California wines, but only a handful of retailers sell them at all around me. We obviously have some box wines and have had these for some time, but these continue to be very low-end wines.

Good point, although unfortunately the 375ml has not really taken off here. Very few half-bottles are sold either in the off trade or on trade. Strange really.

More often than not people buy the full 750ml, or even several, for such occasions.

There are moves to promote the half-litre / 500ml bottle but no idea how successful it will be.

What alternative packaging do you have over there in the USA?

That's just a little too bizarre for me to swallow, pun intended. Although this is not a solution looking for a problem. The problem is clearly, "How do we sell more PET?"

Yeah, I don't see this replacing the 375ml in the serving size viability department. And if traditionalist consumers have problems with stelvin screwcaps, I am pretty sure they will hate opening their glass of wine like it is a cup of pudding. :)
