Happy Reading!
I first published this information in a post (“List of UK Wine Blogs”) in 2008, but it constantly needs updating.
Of course the list could be much more comprehensive, covering a broader range of wine sites. To be honest, that is better left to someone better technically qualified as the list would be long (if you want that, go to AbleGrape.com as I’m sure you’ll find the information you are looking for).
For the purposes of this list, I have chosen to concentrate on those sites that:
- are written in the UK (whether they are about this market or not, or even written in English!)
- provide Opinion, Commentary and/or Tasting Notes. I am not including news sites like Harpers.co.uk because of this, but I have included Decanter as they have a separate blog area, and included JancisRobinson.com as it achieves many of the same objectives even if 50% or more is subscriber only
I have also tried a very basic categorisation. These categories are not strict or mutually exclusive, but they do try to separate the blogs by the type of writing you can expect when following them.
I’m sure to have missed a few (yes, bloggers ought to do a better job of research, but I can update this list with your input, so effectively this IS my market research).
Hopefully this list will be useful to some other than just sp*mmers.

[...] is a generation of wine lovers who are using the power of social media, through blogs, twitter, facebook, youtube, etc. to communicate their love of wine and their personal take on it. [...]

Try Louis Anthony Woodbine. He has a rather novel take on describing wines (address in the website space) as he talks about it like a love affair. Good fun, light hearted but with a bit of fact in these wine tasting notes.

I like your site. Mine is winepsych.com which has focus on psychology and wine. I have reference section with journal papers etc. which people might find useful. I try to update my blog a couple of times a week.
cheers

Here's another one: http://winefriend.wordpress.com
It covers a lot of general wine themes but has a particular interest in Italy, with web pages on some key regions, some well known, others not.

Feel free to add my blog http://www.cantinacaputo.com to your list. It has only just been planted so it is a little bare in terms of content. I have high hopes for it though.
Grazie

Good list
I blog on arrtisan and natural wines mostly with an emphasis lately on the Etna area in Sicily, Ribeira Sacra in Spain and Arbois in France.
Please feel free to add my blog to the list if you'd like…I'd be honored. http://arnoldwaldstein.com/wine

thanks Arnold. Great subjects and good blog. Unfortunately this list is dedicated to UK wine blogs (in a fairly general sense). Is there a UK connection with your blog?

done! good luck

Hmmm…Not certain what the “UK” in a “UK wine blog means”. Folks in the UK drink a lot of wines from the regions I'm interested in (aka, they read my blog and buy these wines).
I'm in NYC. Drink and travel and blog on wines mostly European with an emphasis on natural and artisanal.
Whatever works for you is fine and I'm glad I found your site….I like it quite a bit. But the idea of location, yes terroir, is about the wine not those of us who love it, blog on it and share it

Well, as it states above,
“For the purposes of this list, I have chosen to concentrate on those sites that:
are written in the UK (whether they are about this market or not, or even written in English!)”
… but I did extend it to include British writers who are resident abroad and writing for a UK audience.
There are already many lists of wine blogs in general, and the US dominates them, so this is an attempt to filter out just the UK ones to give them a little profile, and make this list distinctive.
You might have been a UK expat in the US, hence the question
Do make sure you've got yourself listed on http://wineblogger.info though!

Paul…no problem and please, no offense meant.
Enjoy and I'll keep reading your blogs even though as an American…I can't be a member of your club

Cuture and Wine are intrinsically inter-twined. My background in applied linguistics and being an Asian led me to my own wine blog called http://www.cultureandwine.blogspot.com/ It discusses wine language, how we use wine descriptors and sociolinguistics contexts etc. Join me there with your views.
